This is really smooth. It has none of the harsh, blatty jabs of some of the other versions. Nothing but sweet, singing sustain.

Yeah I bought one a couple of months ago. It's a nice pedal, especially once I add some reverb and a little distortion thanks to my MXR 78 badass.

Before I order the triangle re-issue... I'd like to know this :

Any know if the 1974 Ibanez Overdrive (a orange narrow fuzz box wrongly named overdrive) and its second version the OD850 released as part part of the 1979 "0" serie (with the TS808...) were based on the Ram's Head circuit that came out one year before or on the first version of the Big Muff Pie ???

I actually hope it is based on the Ram's Head as I will soon buy the Triangle RE...

I recently compared the 1974 RE to a BMP version 3 and I needed to turn down the tone control down left to get vintage muff tones as the Ibanez had additional treble in the circuit, but otherwise I could get classic Muff tone I do not get with the Big Muff Deluxe.
(I have also a 1979/1980 OD850 but it is damaged and unreliable. The re-issue works perfectly).

Note : on the old OD850 and the 1974 RE maxing all knobs down right will yield pure squeal larsen no matter what you are actually playing but with moderate settings you can coax nice soft liquid fuzz tones with that stompbox.

The Ibanez OD-850 and Maxon OD-801 are based on the Big Muff Pi, but aren’t exact copies of any particular version.

The tone circuit is modified.

Probably based on the first two versions since it was designed (I think) before the release of the third BMP.
