Nothing new to add here, except I had to open it up before I realized it can’t use batteries, and this is likely a gateway pedal into higher-end EQ. It’s also not true bypass, but I don’t remember any complaints about the buffer.

Makes a nice front-end goose with the gain up a few dbs,,,,,, as well as the more favored in-loop position.

Re: NPD: MXR Ten-Band EQ

I think this one’s going in the loop. (All of my amps have them.) I’ve always seen myself getting a sexy boost pedal for out front, though I don’t even know how I see it fitting in with my amps, pickups, and playing style.

Just remember when you adjust it, use your ears, not your eyes. It should work well for you.

Have you considered a Keeley Katana? Clean and Top boost with a single push pull knob. Loud. Very loud if you turn it past 8. But clear.
I think that they now make a blues driver version too.

These also look better than the new versions. (cosmetically/heavy-duty) IMO

Aren't the new ones much lighter/aluminum?

It's one that I continually remind myself of.

I have the newer model in my loop, love it for cutting volume and maintaining saturation

That Pedal Show did a good walkthrough of the 10-band this Friday. It wasn’t even the main subject of the vid (in fact, they added it to the board part way through).

Stick around to about 2/3 of the way through - Dan kicks in all three amps with the OCD playing Biffy Clyro’s Many Of Horror and it is quite, quite special.

Have you thought about a Klone? In terms of tone I'd describe it as a 'more' button; the same basic tone, but bigger, louder, and maybe the slightest bit smoother. I've had the Wampler Tumnus for a few months now, and it's just awesome.
