NPD: Saturday Night Special

Just installed the SNS in my new Chapman ML-1 and all I can say is WOW!

These pickups compliment this guitar (mahogany w/maple top, ebony board, 24 frets) perfectly! Not too much bass, not too middy, not shrill on top - juuuuuust right.

I also like the slight open wah / vowel sound in the in-between position. It gives it an interesting flavor but doesn't overpower the natural sound of the guitar.

The balance is nice too. Slightly underwound neck + slightly overwound bridge = awesome!

Hey I just realized you live pretty close to me dotsdad!

The thing I like about the SNS is that they've already done the mag swap for you. I've tried A2 and A5 in both neck and bridge and they don't have nearly the quality that the set comes with stock.

They aren't a Panacea, but when they work, they work very well.

It's funny. For the entire time the SNS has been out they've been a bit more obscure. I think I've heard more mentions of the P-Rails in the past few months than the SNS. But it seems like that in just the last week, everyone and their brother bought a set.

It's good they are finally getting the recognition they deserve.
