NPD: Two great delays, that delay great together!

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
I have often said that the only two delays you need are a good analog and a good digital. The DD-3 and the AD-9

I just picked up this Ibanez AD-9….and I think I TOTALLY won the universe. I hit this off the bay. Odd little auction that had a very pristine ad-9 papers and all. Played it a while, it oscillates, etc. Price tag said $232.00 on the box. I'm pretty sure I hit a rarely used/home only 80's AD9!!!!!!!!!!

Haven't had this combo on the floor together in 20 years. Feels good to be home!

Which one do you default to?

Do you ever use both together?

Re: NPD: Two great delays, that delay great together!

Simple answer: Depends.

Default is really no delay. I probably use the DD-3 more, but "Hair Metal"….so no surprise.

Yes I do on occasion use both, but that's because the AD9 is set for a tone more than a delay. On that note, short into long is what I find works best - but do whatever you dig. Time and place for every arrangement!

But I will absolutely yank the AD-9 to do anything with my Fender Pro Jr.
