new riff day, plus a special bonus: a shot of my moobs and crotch!

anyhow - I've been battling with my JTM30. recently tried from scratch with my super OD and found a happy place. I'm hoping to actually mic up the amp for some proper clips soon. such a weird amp - sounds great one day, off the next. I love it, then I hate it, then I think about selling it and find tones I dig and the process begins again. To be fair, most of the times I don't like it are when I'm playing it at too low a volume.

Cool tone, I think it sounds really great! Do you just run from your Boss Super OD to your amp, no loops or funny business wiring-wise? And you layer the amp's overdrive channel with the Super OD? I must say, louder IS better from my perspective also...

Thanks scottulus. Yes, it's between the guitar and amp. The jtm30's gain is fairly harsh, so I back that off to 7-7.5, and add a tad of the boss and put the master on about 6.

I use it to save riffs mainly. Grab my phone, hit record, trim it, and email it to my YouTube account. Some are silly things that aren't necessarily fit for mass consumption. I use GB on my iPad too but they're a pain to sort through and get into iTunes.

There ain't NOTHING wrong with that tone! It actually reminds me quite a bit of the Splawn Quick Rod ... not quite as chewy, but it's a very ambient recording. Would like to hear it mic'd up for closer inspection.

As for the riff itself ... doubled, with a couple of harmonies ... add some piano/synth ... you are well into Criss Oliva territory. Killer riff!
