Nut Size for ESP LTD EC Series

Guys and Gals...

I'm headed to the city today to take care of business, and there's always an obligatory stop at the music stores! I have been uprgrading and repairing an LTD EC-300 for sometime now, and it's ALMOST finished... at least to the point where I can play it... The main thing I need right now is a new nut. I had planned on getting a Graptech, but I can NOT find the old nut for reference... does anyone know the string spacing on the nut for this series or guitars? The width of the neck at the nut slot is 1-5/8" to 1-11/16"... Am I correct to assume that any nut in this range should be spaced appropriately for this guitar.... I'm sure I'll have to file the slots down a bit, but spacing is my MAIN concern...

Thanks for the help,
Allen

Re: Nut Size for ESP LTD EC Series

Its a craps shoot bro.

The best thing to do would be to take the old nut off and take it with you to see.

Re: Nut Size for ESP LTD EC Series

Thanks for the feebback, Dave, but I can't find the old nut for reference....

I'll just get the standard and a blank and take it from there...

Thanks again,
Allen

Re: Nut Size for ESP LTD EC Series

FWIW, I've dug through and downloaded the ESP site and found NO reference to nut spacing... I DID, however find the following on the ESP FAQ's....

Does ESP sell replacement parts? Where can I find parts/accessories for my ESP guitar?
No. ESP does not sell replacement parts at this time. Although ESP used to sell replacement parts in the past, this is not offered currently. All current ESP instruments use industry standard guitar parts, and these types of parts can be purchased from most any parts suppliers or retailers. Here are a few places to buy parts:

1) www.guitarpartsdepot.com
2) www.stewmac.com
3) www.wdmusic.com
4) www.allparts.com

I hope "industry standard" is STANDARD!!! LOL!!! Coincidentally, does anyone know if the TOM is Metric or standard?
