Music Man guitars only have 42mm nuts. Annoys the hell out of me. The only except is the bolt-on Petrucci which has a wider nut and then some idiot gets the string spacing right back to where it was with a narrow nut. Nutz. Dunno about the neck-through Petrucci but I think I'm done with Music Man.

No, most Fenders that say 1-5/8" are 43mm. I think that's pretty consistent over the years.

I'm exactly with you on this; I tend to discard guitars immediately if they have a 43mm nut width. I cramp MUCH quicker then and it just feels less comfy.
The ONLY exception to this was the MM JP6. That neck is incredibly comfy even though it ticks every-single-box in the 'I hate this' neck category. Go figure.
MusicMan have fit my needs perfectly and I don't cramp or feel weird with their necks. Otherwise it seems Carvin nut width are also 42mm (got a fanned fret Aries coming in, will soon find out). Otherwise I like the neck width on my Strandberg but not only have I never measured it, the endurneck means nut width is not as relevant as for round neck profiles.

FWIW, I doubt anyone's hands can feel the difference between a 42mm nut and a 43mm nut. What really matters to "feel" IME is the string spread, and the string spacing. This boils down to how the nut is slotted. I'll bet if you got a 43mm non-slotted nut blank, and simply spaced the strings a millimeter narrower than most people might do it, you'd like the feel just fine.

I disagree; my hands cramp faster on wider necks, and the edge of my thumb where they go over the neck gets sore on 43mm nut-width, less so on 42, and not at all on less than 42.
Perhaps this is due to my hands having JUST the correct dimensions where a millimeter stretches my thumb out too much. All I know is that it happens with whatever guitars regardless of me knowing their technical specs. If I cramp on the lower positions, I can almost guarantee it's the nut width being too wide.
It should affect people who don't play with the thumb over the neck less, I would assume.

No, my hand does not.
My fingers, however, do. I can't play some chords cleanly on Music Mans when I can on AVRIs. Just for starters I do chords with barre and shifted A major with a flat ringer finger over 4 strings. On 42mm it will kill the E string. AVRI at 43mm will just clear it.
