NuTube preamp for active pups

Has anyone thought of using a nutube preamp for active pups in a guitar?

anyone have an idea how it could be done?

You mean as in putting it in a guitar? I think it's a bit big and too simple (being basically a double triode from what I see) for that... Also, the voltage gain is only x5.

I think it will really shine as a part of a distortion/boost/overdrive stompbox.
