New Vintage Supro Amp day. Heres a brief rundown- I picked up the pretty dern scrace to find late 60's Supro amp cabinet with two original vintage Jensen Special Design Speakers ( speakers are amazingly in excellent working condition- was prepared for them to need recone) for 2 hundred fifty.
I was actually going to use this for my Monkey Wards vintage amp head once they are both "Valco's". But as fate would have it, I was checking Reverb when a vintage 1968 Supro Sportsman 35 watt 2x6l6 head came up. Well, I got it for 400.00 shipped.

The badges are gone off both the head and the cabinet, which I know is a big value killer, but.

ANYwayz..The seller said there was a a hum, but it runs quite as a churchmouse...must've been 60 cycle hum. Amazing since it's all 100% original and never had a tech insider her( hmm..hmm). HUGE bonus was RCA Grayplates ( blackplates ??) with all their flash and look pretty new, as well as all original RCA preamp 12ax7's.

I'ng berry berry happy. Was planning on pimping her out, but it sounds so nice I might have to keep her. NOW i see why peeps dig old Supros!I paid 650.00 Offer me 12, and MAYbe..

I like things that are so cool, not even a billionire can just run out and find one, well, unless at top dollar if then.Of course, I had to run out and screw the cabinet up, having IDD( idiot dumbass disease). There was a huge blotch that looked permenent on top of the cab, but to my amazement it cleaned up, so then I used this crap called 'Goof off', which I will never use again on anything and that stuff has literally screwed up everything Ive ever used it on..it wont even work on stuff that really needs to come off- the 'Goo Gon'e orange organic stuff is way harmless. But I tried to get this patch of stuff off the front and ended up rubbing some color off the top and it looks awful.

SOOOO. It seems that this amp model was purportedly used by Jimmy the Page on Led Zepplin II, and that Eric the Clapton 's Sportsman sold for 28,000 ( of course, that was without the matching cabinet like I have , heh), which I paid considerably less. heh.;
