Oceanic/Nautical/Maritime Scales?

I've stumbled across an "ocean metal" band called Giant Squid and am completely entranced. What are some scales I can use to get a (for the lack of a better term) nautical sound?

It's the whole tune, the chord progression and melody, that gives it that sound. But they move between major scale and harmonic minor. I don't hear anything out of the ordinary.

It’s funny how we describe sounds....I listened to that and had the OP never said the word nautical, that’s the last word I would have used to describe that. Lol

When composing nautical songs it helps to smoke a lot of sea-weed.
