ok i need some new pickups for my strat...

ok i got a strat and the pickups suck!!! lol so i need some new ones... i like to play metal (metallica, KSE, shadows fall) but i also like to play some lighter stuff too and i also would like a nice clean sound, so any one have any ideas on what i should get?

If you don't want to go HSS, my recommendation would be for a Hot Rails in the bridge, Vintage Rails in the mid, and Cool Rails in the neck. You can get pretty much any sound you need from that combo.

Besides, an all rails setup looks killer. :burnout:

yeah i was thinking about geting a hot rails or coolrails... also if anyone has any they want to sell let me know.. (should get paid soon)

The HR bridge will easily over power the VR middle. I'd suggest either CRn, CRn, HRb if you want the Hot Rails or CRn, VRb, CRb if you want the Vintage Rails.

The Cool Rails clean up very well and the CRn in a strat neck is a killer lead pickup and equally good for clean rhythm work. Clear, not too bright, and warmer than a typical single coil strat pickup.

Since you play a lot of metal (high gain), I'd definatly opt for a rail or a SC sized humbucker like the JBjr. What kind of amp are you playing through? That'll ultimatly decide how heavy you can go, regardless of what pickups are in your axe.

I completely agree! Tell us what kind of amp you're currently using.

right now i gotta little peavy but i hope to get somthing better some time soon, tho i just killed my effects pedal so im going to need a new on of them too...
