Ok I tried out the Soy Wax (with some bees)

I put some nice shiny new original Seymour Duncan gold covers on my A2P and C8. Then I potted them with a blend of about 75% soy wax and 25% bees wax. The hardened wax residue residing on the tips of my pliers has a firm and squishy consistency. It isn't brittle and it doesn't crack. I think it's perfect for pickups and makes sense since soy wax is a natural and renewable plant product.

Good to know.

Never knew we were running out of beeswax though.

He's talking about replacing parafin (a petrolium derivate) with soy wax, which is a sustainable product. Bee wax is also a sustainable product and by no means is running out, but... costs lotta dough! :eyecrazy:

Yes bees sting you pretty bad for their wax. :laugh2:

maybe a little out of topic... but does anyone now what kind wax skateboard waxes are made of? :P I have a chunk of that kind of wax and would be cool if I could use that.

bee's wax works pretty good on it's own and is easy and cheap to get. Go to your local farmer's market and get a pound. It'll go a long way
