Ok just picked up a POD 2.0

ok guys,

One of the guitar players at my church gave me his POD 2.0 with the old floorboard (large). I only have experience with the POD XT, are there any "tricks" or lessons you guys learned using this thing?

FYI 2 main applications:

at church running through the house

at home recording through my Line 6 UX2 or Lexicon Lambda

any help?

Chris

Running it through the Line 6 UX2 is redundant. They'll have the same sounds. At church, runt it like the XT. The XT is basically a POD 3.0. Just a few upgrades here and there.

I had one when thy first came out (the 2.0) and I could never get on with it... way to much fizz for me.

I traded it in on some other gear. Hopefully you'll hav better luck.

This isn't entirely true.

The models in the 2.0 aren't the same as the PODxt.

In particular the POD 2.0 Brit High Gain (JCM800) caused a lot of controversy. Apparenty because the 2.0 JCM800 was modeled after a hot rodded 800... and the PODxt 800 was modelled after a stock 800.

I can definitely say they are different, because I like the 2.0 800... and that sound doesn't exist in the PODxt nor the plugins, which are based on the XT.

Further... Line 6 declined to tell me how I could get closest to the 2.0 800 with the XT technology.

The Guitar Port 1.0 has the POD 2.0 models... but Ta-Dah... can't use them as a plugin nor get a recording package to read it like it can Guitar Port 2.0 (XT based sounds) or UX1, 2, etc. (also XT sounds).

POD and PODxt may be similar in that they are modelers... but the programming appears to be different, as to the models themselves.

Yeah but theoretically and

i mean try and follow me here

but if you ran your guitar through a floor processor modellor modelloring a JCM800

then you ran it to a computer processor modelloring a JCM800

wouldn't it sound like TWICE AS MANY a JCM800?

Yea... The 2.0 800 model was the only thing I was ever REALLY able to use in a live situation out of the POD, as far as hard rock tones.. I have an XT and I really miss that model.
