Does anyone know what Joe Perry and Brad Whitford were using in the early 70s, particularly on their self-titled debut album?

for amps, probably marshall and sunn......there are some old first album era pics of the band in the Pandora's Box set and Whiteford is playing what he mostly plays today.......Les Paul Standard.....through some form of Plexi. Perry played the left handed black Strat and his old 54 black beauty a lot back in the 70's. To get some of the sounds from Get Your Wings in concert this tour, he is using a Tele and unlike the Vegas show, a Taylor 12 string on "Seasons of Wither" Whitford uses the Les Paul for about 80% of the show and a white Strat and one of his weird old custom Steinberger type guitars for the rest.

Perry's black lefty Strat wasn't until the 'Rocks' time frame. Don't forget, that axe had Bill Lawrence blade-style pickups in it. Also, he was playing the sunburst "Slash" LP a lot on the Rocks tour. I saw them at the Spectrum in Philly, the night someone threw an M80 onstage and messed up Perry's hand. (No encore for us that night.) Amps on that tour were customized "Aerosmith" Music Man's, with LED level meters that spanned the entire front panel of the head.
Early on, I think he played a LP Junior with P90's through Marshalls.

yeah......i forgot about the Music Man amps......i read that in an interview aznd somehow that got translated to Sunn:laugh2: Brad hasn't really changed his primary setup for ages. Question.......did they start dabbling with the BC Rich guitars on the Rocks Tour or Draw the Line? Live album was taken from Draw the Line era and Joe was using the Bich extensively then as I recall.
