Old Marshall

Thinking of getting a more powerful head to replace my crate blue voodoo. Any thoughts or ideas on the Marshall VS100? I will be getting the head version and running it through my homemade 4/12 cab with celestions.

IMHO I would recommend going with a tube Amp. They simply sound a lot better. Once you get the volume up where it belongs, they get thick and rich. Most guys here will tell you to go tube! That being said I would recommend you post some info about the type of music you play. This will have an impact on what type of Amp would be best suited to get what you are looking for out of the Amp. If you are a "modern" type of Player the DSL or TSL are really nice Amps, good clean sound and bothe have a large amount of gain available for this type of sound

Hehe, this sounds like a familiar conversation!

My thoughts: stay away from the solid state and Valvetate stuff. I thought you were gonna go with the 120W Blue Voodoo!!

Yeah, Marshall's tube amps are what they are famous for. Worth the money on Ebay.

Hey TO! Well I might still go for the BV but our bassist who is a guitarist as well plays a VS100 hybrid marshall and through my cab it sounds glorious and is cheaper! I really havent decided what to get, it really depends on what I can get for MY Blue Voodoo. Know of anyone that might be interested on the forum?
