Old pickups uses

Does anyone have ideas for uses of old extra pickups? I have 2 sets of crappy old pickups just laying around collecting dust now.

I vaguely recall donating a bunch of cheap, old, dogbreath pickups to one-time forum member, Left_Hand_Strat. He was going to unwind the copper wire from them and use it to experiment with building his own new pickups. I have no idea whether he went through with the idea.

Re-install them into cheap guitars that you're selling. Good pups, in cheap guitars, don't raise the price.

alnicos are pretty expensive fridge magnets, sell 'em

Dispose of your cheap PU's at your own peril. I've seen a lot of guitars sold with expensive, upgraded PU's that didn't sell for a dollar more than if they had the cheap stock ones (probably because the seller threw out the old PU's). They're often a 'gift' to the buyer.
