Older Duncan Distortion pup?

A couple years ago, I traded a nice bass for an Electra x260 Invicta. He said that he had replaced the bridge with an SH6.

I now realize that even though this guitar sounds so sweet I could cry, I don't think it's an SH6.

It looks like a Full Shred SH10 because both rows of are allen heads instead of one row of flats and one row of screws.

So my question is: Were SH6's made with two rows of allen heads in the past? Thanks in advance.

Re: Older Duncan Distortion pup?

Nope. THe likelihood is large that it is in fact a full shred, or it`s a DD taht`s been modded, OR it could be a Dimarzio Super Distortion.

If you can pop it out and tell us what the markings on the baseplate are we can probably tell you for sure what it is ;)

A picture is worth 1000 words. But in this case a picture would probably result in 2 words. I am banking on it being a Full Shred.

^^ either that or a SUper Distortion... obviously if it has an SD logo it´s probably not a Dimarzio, but I don´t know whether it has one or not yet... :laugh2:

I guess I'll have to remove it. Problem is that it's at a great height right now and I don't have the proper tool to measure it. It definitely has "Seymour Duncan" printed on it.

I'm at work and this is the closest pic I currently have. As you can see, the allens are a little rusted.

Before seeing the pictures, I would have agreed with Zerb that it was a Super D.

I've never heard of a full shred being "so sweet I could cry" LOL!

Re: Older Duncan Distortion pup?

It's not that it's a full shred, it's how it's acted in this Ash/Maple set neck guitar. It has a coil tap so I can go from high gain death metal to full strat clean and everything in between!
