I could be mistaken, but I think you need to measure the distance between the bridge and the *nut* to ensure proper intonation. i.e.: You want the guitar to be in tune all the way up the neck. Tone is something else...

Oh yeah, when I assembled it I measured from the nut. I was just trying to figure if the body was made for a 24 fret neck or not. Intonation is fine!

So yesterday I got her finished! I ordered a pickguard from drangonfire guitars which came pre-loaded with a set of HSS pickups. It was actually the cheapest option to get the pickguard and pull them out. Crazy.
This guitar is BRIGHT. There's a couple of factors involved. The body is INSANELY light, and I am using a 500k tone pot (I needed a push-pull for a future project). It's the only guitar I've played where I regularly play with the tone pot down at all. A 250k would definitely make sense here, but the 500k is not so bad as long as I remember not to max it out. I'm currently using the push-pull to bypass the tone pot entirely. Even with the tone all the way up the capacitor is still part of the circuit, and I had heard that it still plays a large part in cutting out some highs so I took the opportunity to check it out. You can definitely hear a difference, but I'm not sure it's enough to warrant having that feature on a guitar.
I have to pick up some new strings for it as I tore this set up installing everything, but in a few days I hope to have some clips up. Until then, check out the finished product below!

excellent job. i was looking at that exact body and neck. when i saw that you'd bought them, i was very interested to see how they would match and how usable the guitar would be. i always thought that that particular body and neck are the same model, and possibly pre-matched to be the same guitar.
now that i see it strung up, i realise the neck is to wide for me, but it looks darned good.
