One for me: Christmas Pedal Shopping

My Sister's have no idea what to get me for christmas. And neither do I, so why not a pedal. I already have a Boss Tu-2, and a Danelectro Chorus Pedal my other guitarist gave me. I rarely use the chorus as I prefer my amp's original tone (Mesa Single Rectifier through a Splawn 4x12). I use a Gibson E/2 with JB/Jazz for the most part, occasionally my Fender Showmaster (Stock Atomic II Pickups).

The band I play in is your typical Emo/Hardcore band only we throw in some 80's Metal Lead Playing and that's for the most part what I listen to (If you have a different taste, please don't make a pointless post saying the music I listen to sucks):

Gatsby's American Dream
The Sound of Animals Fighting
Chiodos
Emery
Normal Like You
Underoath

etc.

I don't need a distortion/OD. I tried a DS-1 and it sounded pretty much exactly the same only buzzier. About the only thing I'm thinking would be nice to have would be a Delay Pedal, maybe a Phaser, or EQ. I'm mainly rhythm, but I throw lead in here and there.

Anyone have any suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated.

Go for a delay pedal. Check what's out there, and go according to their spending limit. Even if it's a cheap one, it'll let you know whether you like delay.

A very useful pedal is the Line 6 blue modulation pedal. I know it's probably more than they want to spend, but maybe get your parents and sister to get you GC gift certificates instead, and buy one after the holidays.

When you're trying to find a unique sound for a part in a song, you have a lot of choices, and then you hold down the button for 14 seconds and it's stored to one of it's 4 buttons. It's the swiss army knife of modulation FX.

2 of my favorite pedals are the Boss DD-20 and the BF-3.

I'd say pick a boss delay pedal of some sort. I usually prefer to add a bit of delay (~ 100 ms) to my stuff to make it more "organic". I rarely do "U2" style delay.

I've never really worked with effects do you think it'd be better for me to get gift certificates and get a multi-effects pedals such as the PoDLive?

I stay away from Line 6 and POD because to my ears they're krap, but everyone has different ears.
