Hey all, thought i'd post some pictures from my build that I started about 2 weeks ago.
*BEWARE* I'm going to warn you now, some may call this icemanning.... but this build is a very slow one, so that's why you haven't really heard anything about it yet, and might not hear anything more for a while...
Anyway, the specs:
. Precision Guitar Kits LP Jr kit
. Bare Knuckle Blue Note P90
. Tonepros vintage aluminum wrap-around bridge
. Tonepros Kluson Jr (Plate?) Tuners
So first off, I sanded the body and neck. When it arrived, it was sanded to 320 grit. Over 5 hours or so (spread through two days) I sanded it all the way to 2000 grit. Fun, fun, fun... But it payed off....
Then, I glued the neck in place with some Titebond Original glue.. Once that had dried, I went back over and sanded it again with 2000, just for the heck of it.
Now, we are up to the current point in time. Over 4 days, i've put two coats on Tung-Oil on the guitar (Front, sides, headstock on one day, 30 mins later = wipe off excess, leave to dry for 24 hours, next day, flip over and oil the back, the neck, and the rest of the headstock. Repeat wiping and 24 hour rest.) I must say, i've heard people saying Tung Oil never dries, and is hard to work with... I've found it very easy to use.. Anyway, i'm looking to build up as many coats as possible, which should be quite a few, judging by the size of the tin, ahahah! I shall post some more pictures once i've built up some more layers.
Anyway, enjoy!
