Only One Week LEFT!

Marshall Prices

Head up! I just received an "insider" email that reported that Marshall will be raising prices across the board on their amps, and the increase will be up to 10%.

My information is from a salesman who just had a meeting with Marshall reps.

FYI.

Re: Only One Week LEFT!

My $499 2100 is all the Marshall I could have ever asked for. Marshall can raise them to whatever they want becasue I already have the Marshall/tones I need and have always wanted.

Well for those of us who are not that lucky will still get all the marshall tones, from hand build quality of Celtic Edana for much less what ever GC is gonna ask for those assembly line things that marshall offers today.

Word. If Scott makes a Marshall kind of amp that I can plug in barefoot to and play 80's metal, I will buy one. IIRC, he does not have that yet???

I dont know to me it sounded on the clips that it can do 80s stuff if you were to crank it up, no problem. You would need a JB or Invader or DD but it can happen totally, I mean its based on JTM45 so throw some JJ highgain ECC83Ss with some sort of superstrat with those pups in there send it to 4X12 with GT12-75s and I think you would be totally in that zone. Its definately on my list, I don't think I will buy an actual marshall ever again, they dont do things well anymore and there are so many good clones of the good old stuff that are a better bang for the back if you don't care for the re-sale value.

Re: Only One Week LEFT!

JTM-45s - while great sounding blues rock amps, weren't really made for metal. When I think of them, the Beano album comes to mind. IIRC, wasn't Scott working on a very different style amp a few months ago (I thought it was something higher gain - could be wrong)?

I thought I heard that too but, I have heard nothing about it since I thought I heard something about it.

The amp, with the right speakers, could get you close, I'd bet. You'd need a dirt box though to get the grit happening. Hitting the front end with a high output pup ain't a bad start though.

Re: Only One Week LEFT!

"I've received some news here that I thought you might like to be aware of. We just had an amazing meeting with the guys from Marshall amps. US Product Manager for Marshall Amplification, Nick Bowcott, demonstrated the new JVM and Vintage Modern amps for us (which, by the way, sound awesome).

During the meeting, they gave us a heads-up on a change that's coming. This is "insider" info and I wanted you to know before it was too late, especially since this isn't information you'll really be able to get anywhere else.

The news is that Marshall is raising all of their prices by as much as 10% on September 1, 2007 - just a short while from now. I wanted to let you know because if you are planning on picking up a Marshall amp or cabinet, you'll save good money by buying now, instead of waiting."

Re: Only One Week LEFT!

Now, now, no reason to get amped up. I'm certain there will be an inverse correlation between his excitement and the prices come 9/1.

Re: Only One Week LEFT!

And to think I paid $400 for my 2203 back in 1995.

I got one for ya, Robert. Back around 1973 I remember going with a buddy of mine to pick up a used Marshall stack for $700.00!! All 3 pieces were in mint condition as well. Can't imagine what he'd get for it now if he still had it!
