Ooh La La Brown Sound

Anyone got any experience with these? The marketing spiel makes out like it's a Jimi sort of sound...
Is it in the ballpark or is it a high gain distorion or what?
any info would be cool! cheers

The Brown Sound is the Eddie Van Halen guitar tone

In an interview he gave to Guitar World magazine in July, 1985, Van Halen states that his "brown sound" is "basically a tone, a feeling that I'm always working at...It comes from the person." He continues, "If the person doesn't even know what that type of tone I'm talking about is, they can't really work towards it, can they?"

Yeah likely so... I don't keep up much with pedals anymore.

Yup it's a pedal i'm on about made by ooh lala. The stuff on the site doesn't mention EVH in any way but reffers to 'Foxey Lady' tones, maknig me think it might be a cranked Hendrix kinda sound.

Strange decision calling it brown sound given the EVH connection...

I have one and I cant get a brown tone outta the thing... recommend settings?
