I am ordering a bolt (the strat model)

Pic for reference on model!

I am going for a blues and rock thing, I want to be able to cover Clapton and some lighter Stone Sour stuff.

Alder body
Flame Maple top
Maple neck with walnut stripes
Flamed maple fretboard
Med-Jumbo Stainless steel frets
12" radius
Hardtail bridge
SSS pickup configuration, DiMarzio Area pickups (black pickups)
(the rest are visual appeal)
2 tone sunburst (the orange/light brown? and black burst color)
Chrome hardware
matching headstock finish
black pickguard
black truss rod cover
set up with 10-46 in E Standard

So I am thinking this will be my order, opinions?

Should be kool. Post pics when you get it.

Re: Opinion on my Carvin spec sheet, I am ordering tomorrow!

are they gonna put the dimarzio pickups in
or do you plan on changing them
my experience was that they only use their pickups

Re: Opinion on my Carvin spec sheet, I am ordering tomorrow!

What's the switch where the second tone knob usually goes? I think black hardware would look nicer than chrome on what you're suggesting.

Re: Opinion on my Carvin spec sheet, I am ordering tomorrow!

I always meant to get one of them! I've played them & even some of the kit bolts, both were superior to USA production Stratocasters! I love all Strats, Fender, lawsuits, & otherwise, as far as lawsuit type models the Carvin Bolt is kind of the Holy Grail, well that & the G&L Legacy? When I bought my Legacy I was kind of up in the air about which one to get, hindsight being 20/20 I wish I had gone with the Carvin! The Legacy is a great guitar but they are a huge PIA to modify, nothing is the right size & everything on it is very expensive to replace or fix, I haven't run into any problems yet but I'm sure I will @ some point? If I'd gone with the Bolt I'd have a very different guitar today? The Carvins are super well made & easy as a Fender to change if you want to? I think no matter how you set it up your going to be a happy camper!!! Can't wait to hear what you think of it!!!

Re: Opinion on my Carvin spec sheet, I am ordering tomorrow!

I changed 2 things, I made it black hardware and a Chambered Mahogany body

Re: Opinion on my Carvin spec sheet, I am ordering tomorrow!

Carvin does Chambered Mahogany on Bolts?
really?
must be one of the option 50s

do they do the compound radius necks as well?

Re: Opinion on my Carvin spec sheet, I am ordering tomorrow!

I can certainly see the appeal of the Carvin, though for my money I prefer the G&L Strat-bodies...Legacy, Legacy Special, S-500 and Comanche. I have 19 G&Ls; two have aftermarket Duncan Antiquitys and the rest are bone stock. Never felt any need to modify them. I owned a 1960 vintage Strat, and these guitars have all the mods I would have made to a vintage strat to modernize it...without losing the vintage flavor of the original.

I think you've selected some nice options for your Carvin. We'll all be waiting for your review.

If Im not mistaken, I believe they usually wire that as an on/off switch for the bridge pup.

OP, that sounds like a winner! cant wait to see and hear about it once its done!

Id really love to see their hidden options list... Also, yes, Ive heard they will put in your own pups.
