If you go with a JCM 900, don't get the Dual Reverb, they blow. I think Eric H has a 900 and he knows tons about those amps and he has some clips on this site somewhere and they sound good. Deadskinslayer has a 5150 head and Marshall cab I think and it sounds sick. The peavy pulls in more gain than the JCM 900 IMO and is really metal oriented.

I haven't tried them out myself, but from those I'd rather get the 5150. It can do very good rock sounds too, check out Vhoholics clips for that! He's a member here. When need be, the 5150 can go as metal as it gets. It really doesn't have a clean tone, but I'm not sure if the Marshall has one either.

My 5150's clean channel is pretty badass, after the (quite simple) bias mod.

right now im using a peavey solo series renown 1x15 combo its ss and i was looking to go tube im up for other amp ideas other than the jcm900 and 5150..... those were just some ideas i had.....im looking to have a very versitile amp i play one moment from classic rock to shred to blues to about almost anything... looking for something with nice cleans.. also my peavey's distortion now is very dry IMO and i prefer to get something with wetter distortion but not completly soaked....sorry if i sound picky guys.... also most of my guitar playing is at home but thats something that tends to change off and on hope this info helps

What's your budget? That would help a ton.
Example 1: For everything from blues to shred, a Triaxis would sound gorgeous, but is probably out of your price range

For modern rock type sounds, I love the JCM 900 (and I actually played a Dual Reverb one that I liked).
For metal, I don't think it gets much better than the 5150, especially for the price.

Gross... stay the **** away from Stiletto's. They sound like total ****!
I'd just go into a Guitar Center or similar with your guitar and plug into everything you can, and report back to us what you like and don't.
