If ya ask me, its a muddy, undefined mess.

Works for some people though...I dunno. I couldn't stand it.

The Drop-Sonic should be perfect for what you're trying to accomplish.

Not muddy at all.

Interesting, because I felt the same way.

Well, I didn't think it was THAT muddy, but muddier than I prefer...regardless of mounting direction.

I don't find it muddy at all. It's a great PU.The compression and the vocal dynamics are not my style ,but it's a great agressive PU ,and it drop C i it's element!

Well,Thanks fellas for your opinions.Seems like the drop sonic is one of those pup's you have to buy so you could get your own feel of it ..

Dimarzio pickups rock man. I tend to stick with Seymour, but I have a Tone Zone and love the hell out of it man.

Yeah that's right.Flipping changes the sound dramaticly ,and the lead work is somehow not conventional.Check it and tell us what happened heheh:chairfall :chairfall

Re: Opinions on Dimarzio D-Sonic

Did you try it in standard tuning? If so, how was it?

I always had it in drop-c with GHS TNT boomers. I could never get used to it...I ended up selling that guitar to a buddy of mine, and he quickly swapped it out for a JB. Made me wish I had kept the axe ;).

It was anything but tight to my ears though. Then again, I'm not really big on many of the DMZ pickups anywho ;). Eh.
