Opinions on Laney Amps

I've found another modeling amp for under two bills.........it looks like an LX 35D with the grate front, didn't get the exact nomenclature off the amp......

What's the opinions of Laney in general? I understood it was good kit.....anything to watch out for?

Other amps in consideration are a Line 6 and Crate.

Already have a Marshall MG250, so I'm looking for something lighter and smaller.

Laney's are always my go to amp's. I always find myself going back to them after playing vox, marshal and fender amps.

For under two bills personally I would go for a POD or Tone Port, something you can play through head phones. It's going to sound better than an amp for the same amount of money, and an amp that small won't compete with drums anyway so using headphones will be of no consequence. Laney tube amps are awesome, can't comment on the lower end models. It also depends what you're going to be using it for, but for under 200 you're not going to get anything spectacular. Keep in mind that investing in something like a used POD now can also be useful in the future in that you can pair it with a poweramp and use it like a real amp.
