Opinions on the Antiquity Texas Hot Neck

I have been trying to find a good neck pickup for my MIM tele that would make it sound more strat like. I was going to put in a SSL-1 but then I scored a good deal on the Antiquity Texas Hot neck (for strat). My tele is routed for a HB in the neck spot so the only surgery required would be on the pickguard.

Any opinions on the Antiquity Texas Hot neck? How does it compare to an SSL-1?

Thanks!

it's a terrific pickup

you might have some phasing problems, depending on your other pickup(s), but that technical stuff is over my head

Yeah this is maybe the best sounding, warmest Strat neck pickup I've ever heard, with 40+ years of owning and playing Strats.

Thanks guys! Will I have to worry about string spacing with a strat pup in a tele?

Nope. I use one as the neck pickup in one of my Teles.

Two great single coils, for sure, and I use 'em both. IMO I would think the Antiquity will give you a bit more of a crisper, vintage sound along with the slightly higher output. It sure sounds sweet in my MIA Strat with maple neck.
