Opinions Wanted: Mellow Blues/Rock tune

[RGN]

I wrote this inspired by the memory of Randy Rhoads. It has A LOT of different guitar sounds. I think I used at least 3 guitars and several amp combinations. It is pretty mellow at the start but starts rocking a little at the end..

Dang RGN . . . that was great. I like that "mellow" part at the beginning. Its a great build-up to the finale.

BTW - Is that you doing "The Patriot" . . . great tune also.

I've never heard an entire album condensed into 4 minutes before. I really, really like that middle section that sounds almost Japanese. Does anyone else hear it that way?

a rainstick is something discovered by native americans. its some kind of dried cactus or something not sure, but its got seeds in it and theres like little honeycomb passage ways all inside so when you turn in upside down all the seeds start making their way to the bottom and you get that sound that starts around 2 minutes 30 secs into it.

Rainstick- they are big in African music and used a lot in South America also....

Thanks for checking the tune out. I appreciate it. When you move them around they sound like rain. I threw some delay on it and panned it from side to side slowly.

Wow! I listened to RR1 and The Patriot... both are great. NICE tone. What amp did you use?

Thanks Ocifer. The Patriot was done completely with a POD XT running into a TC Electronics G-Force. There probably was a little processing done via computer also. This was 100% a C5 except for that little part in the solo when I used the neck position, it was AP2.

RR1 had a little POD Xt, a little VHT Pitbull mic'd w/ an SM57, a little Marshall DSL50, some of the clean parts went straight into the G-Force then computer. I can't remember what guitars I used for this one. I think it was mostly AP2 and a Cool Rails for the cleans and a C5 and CC for the dirty parts but could have been a JB in there also.

Thanks Rid. I am working on a full length CD so I have plenty of stuff laying around. I may post something heavy and more modern next.

Very good RGN... I really like when the part becomes dirtier... it's very cool because you follow the same pattern. I also like the tempo a lot. Great track and some excellent playing in there.
