Orange cabinets 4x12

Anybody using Orange cabs? Most people say they have a huge low end and not the harsh highs the Marshall 1960 has. I was playing with a vintage Orange cab for a year in the 90's and I agree with these comments but I haven't tried any of their new cabs. The 40th Anniversary is interesting because it has the G12H-30 70th Anniversary Celestions instead of the Vintage 30's.

My friend just got one with a Dual Rectifier head and the sound is nothing if not thick, heavy and bassy with just enough highend.

Because they're an oversized cab they have an extended bottom end, and the wicker grillecloth seems to bleed off some top end and smooth the cab out.

I'm gasing for a pair of Orange cabs myself...............would love to hear some thoughts on them!

Mine is a '70s cab, but it has old greenbacks... not tried one with any other speakers in. It's great for blues/ classic rock and as already mentioned, being oversized (deeper) it really does have a big, thick and meaty sound. I don't use mine very often as it's tucked away in the garage, too heavy to keep dragging out. Great cab all the same.
