Orange OR15 owners

Anyone go through a 4x12? What speakers are you using? Are they giving you the sound you want? How much bigger of a sound are you getting with the 4x12.

I'm thinking of picking up an empty Marshall 1960A. Was thinking of trying a couple Swamp Thangs and a couple V30's. Thoughts?

My Orange has been one of my man cave amps, running through a 2x12 with Carvin speakers, but may be replacing my Sunn Beta Lead 4x10 combo at my buddies house where I jam a couple times a week.

Swamp Thangs sound huge, and would mix well with V30's.

412's are the way to go with lunchbox heads. Half the sound of an amp is the cab, so with 2 EL-84's being pushed, it's possibly better sounding than a high wattage amp turned down.

The matching Orange 4x12 with vintage 30s sounds awesome with the OR15H.

I can imagine 4 V30's sounding great. Even better with 2 V30's and 2 Swamp Thangs. The Swamp Thangs would add a nice thump and sparkle to the V30's mid punch.

I have my Tiny Terror, which is throaty and thick on a G75 loaded Jubilee 412 straight cab that has tight lows and crisp highs. It sounds perfect. I think I'll go turn it on now.

I use a 2x12 too. If you like something in a 2x12, usually it will sound better in a 4x12 (ime, some exceptions with certain speakers getting way too boomy, but...)

So far I like G12m speakers best with my OR15 and when I get my 4x12, that is what I plan on using too. G12m always sound best in a 4x12.

Thanks for the input guys. Couldn't get back on until now. My LG G4 got the blue screen of death. Now using the wife's old pink iPhone.

Yeah Gear, I was thinking that the V30's and Swamp Thang's would sound nice together.

I would love to get an Orange 4x12, but woooo.....pricey!

For whatever it might be worth I run a Dual Terror and an AD30 head thru either a PV 412MS or a RockNRoll Amps 410 loaded with 2 Ragin Cajuns and 2 Ramrods. Both sound killer with either head. The 412 is a little fuller sounding probably as much because it is closed back as anything. The Emi's in the 410 are my faves though, they match the character of the 2 Oranges a little better for my tastes. The grind that the 84's put out just seem to love the 410's.

You know, for gits & shiggles I may try the OR15 into the Sunn's cab. I'll have to check the impedance first, but I do like the punchiness of the 4x10. That might sound pretty bad a$$.

I run it through a 4x12 Marshall

It literally shakes things off shelves at 3/4 volume

Check out Laney IRT series. I run an OR15 through a PPC112 and Laney IRT112. Personally, I think the Laney cab sounds better and it was cheaper.
