Orange Thunderverb 50 Amp Sound?

So I was offered a possible swap for an Ornage Thunderverb 50 head w/ 2x12 cabinet for my Shiva.
I like Orange clean tones a lot, but have only heard the opverdrive tone from clips.
Now, every single clip Ive heard from the Oranges ,there is this top end fuzz/fizz/buzziness.
Am i right about this?
I prefer something edgier and brighter; more Marshally. Hiwatt?

tv50 is awesomeness, it is a bit fuzzy, but with a lot of low end bite, and a built in attenuator. THE BEST AMP!! if you want more modern tones then use channel B for metal mayhem. down uses them. mastodon used em live to promote their new album as I saw them using tv50 live, and they used tv50 on the album before it. it is marshall british tone more or less, but with a darker tone and more low mid range.

I view Oranges similarly to the way I view Marshalls: They only do one thing well (loud and overdriven), but they do it like no other. So, the way I see it, you'd be trading the Shiva for a one trick pony, but a different one trick pony than a Marshall. Using points of reference, if a Marshall is viewed as a vintage Fender tweed sound with added gain, then I'd describe Orange as a vintage Ampeg V Series sound with more gain. More body, a fuller frequency range, than a Marshall, but with a similar "grind" to the attack from the higher gain. As a sound man, I can say that oranges are the most deafening amps we get at the club, because, like an Ampeg, they are so loud in all the midtone frequencies...but it's a more distorted sound than an Ampeg. Marshalls are loud and grindy, but they're only really loud on the high end and upper mids. But Oranges (and Marshalls) sound like utter **** clean IMO. Those amps are made to be dirty; that's where they come into their own and do their thing best, which is why I call them one trick ponies.

I played a TV50 the other day and yes the gain is very bright and fuzzy, it is still a great tone, and the fact I played it with a 335 may have accentuated these qualities
