Ordered A New Neck For My Warmoth Tele Thinline Build................

Years ago I custom ordered a tele thinline body from Warmoth without a sound hole (so that I may create my own) and a roasted Maple neck. I just ordered a custom tele neck made of Padouk to somewhat match the thinline top wood (Padouk) which is supposed to be a great tonewood and should look very cool. Here's what it looks like right now (upgraded photos to be provided later)

I like the lightning bolt. Thought about doing that to one of my own builds. Did you use a template for that or just freeball it?

Nice. Very nice indeed.
Padauk is a very good wood. It is very hard, dense, and stable.
When you finish it, your first few coats (sealer or clear) need to be light and fairly dry because the red color will run. Padauk is used to make red dye.

Thank you very kindly sir. I plan on just using orange oil on the neck which is what I used on the guitar body. The Padouck is holding up well and just feels like raw wood. That is what I am hoping for on the neck feel.

With no finish on it, it will gradually turn brownish. Direct sunlight accelerates that change. Finishes reduce/retard the change, but it still changes a bit.

Is African limba black or white? My Orange O-bass is made from African limba it says wonder what kind that is? I can't see through the finish it's black.

There is a white and black Limba. I believe they are similar in tone. One is lighter than the other and Black Limba usually has streaks in it.

I think black & white limba are different parts of the same tree. If it is free of streaks, it is white.
