I was originally going to go a Hot Rod 59 style Tele but ran across an Aussie guy that winds Strat and Tele pickups. So I thought rather than send my $ overseas as is usually the case I would try a set. I have not heard his Tele pickups before but his Strat pickups sound amazing.

This is what I've ordered.

Condition

- Black vulcanized fiber "forbon" bobbins

- AlNiCo 3 poles, Flush heights

- 1971 NOS Phelps-Dodge Coy USA, 42g NYLZ-H

- North polarity, Clockwise winding

- pre build lacquered Bobbins and post build wax potted

- Vintage white cotton Dunnage wrapping (custom colours available)

- Original Zinc Steel base plate, grounded

- Black = ground, White = active, vintage 22g cloth covered pushback
output wires

- includes 6/32 UNC adjusting screws with vintage amber rubber
compression spacers

Tele Neck, to the following specifications (Approx 7.45k) NEW Condition

- Black vulcanized fiber "forbon" bobbins

- AlNiCo 5 poles, Flush heights

- 43g (.055mm) PE coil wire

- North polarity, Clockwise winding (NON RWRP in relation to bridge)

- pre build lacquered Bobbins and post build wax potted

- Chromed, Vintage 3 tang cover, wax potted and then wax cavity filled

I couldn't be happier with the service from Rod (Slider) either. I only paid for these early this week and said they should ship out this Friday.

Here's a couple of pics of the neck pickup.

Those really look like something. I bet they're pretty expensive, too.

Any chance of getting some sound-clips when they're in? :)

Fellow Laney user :cool2:

Actually pretty good price. The NOS 71 wire for the bridge did put the price up a bit but still on par with what I would have spent on Antiquities.

I shall certainly be doing some clips once I get them in and find the time.

thats some interesting bridge wire. is the color in the photo accurate?

Yep, hot pink 1971 NOS Phelps-Dodge Coy USA, 42g NYLZ-H. :cool2:

I actually went with this wire mainly because I am a 70's born lad. As to the tonal differences between this and current production 42 wire IDK.

He does also have some "NOS" Belden Coy (made in the USA) "Beldure" 42g H wire 1955.

Would love to try it, but alas was a little out of my price range. Here's a pic of one of his Tele bridge with the green 55 wire and a bridge with the 71 pink wire .

No website. He is a small boutique operater which I like. He even offers a full return policy to my knowledge.

He usually sells pre wound sets on Ebay. However I ordered direct from him.
I do have his email address and am sure he wouldn't mind me giving it out to any interested people.

He does have a few clips of his Strat pickups on Youtube and recieved a glowing review in the ToneQuest report.

Quick update.

Pickups arrived today. Hopefully will get a chance to install them in the next few days. Probably going to go series wired for the middle postion.

Anyway, great guy to deal with and the pickups look amazing.

Well she's all done. I could not be happier with her. The Slider's Tele pickups are amazing, exactly what I was looking for.
