Other guitarist getting a new amp appreciation post

We've got two guitars in the band, myself (lead) and the singer (rhythm). We both have nice guitars, but his amp was lacking (marshall valvestate). I have a DSL which completely just blew the ss amp out of the water.

But he just picked up a used JCM 900 SL-X for $550...and now we're ready to take on the world!

JCM 900 SL-X for 550? Where'd he grab that? That's the same amp that I'm looking to grab. Whats his opinions on it?

got it at daddys. sounds AWESOME. really loud, really full. the distortion is very comparable to my DSL on channel 2 without the button that scoops the mids

hah, sorry bout that. we went in there last week and he put some money down on it to reserve it and to have it sent over to check out.
