high output: works great for the 80´s metal that i play.

But lower output pickups can sound great to of course, depands a lot on the amp as well.

Low or Medium, I like Strats, and i guess you could call those low output, i just turn the volume up on the amp when i want to play real loud.

Medium.. just enough to drive the amp a bit, but not so much that it doesn't clean up.

High output. Gimme a JB, Invader, Distortion, Custom or EMG 81!

To borrow from the late Dimebag Darrell, I like the squishy feel that high output pickups have.

Every pickup has it's purpose and I like almost all of them.

In general though, I prefer medium to medium high.

The crazy high output pickups like the Invader and X2N are just too much for me because the amp/pre-amps I have are gainy enough that I can obtain almost any type of sound.

Duncan Distortion and sometimes the 81 are as hot as I'll go.
