Overplayed Blues......

B Bent

Vibroluxologist
Here is my second recording ever. I totally wing everything that's why there are so many trainwrecks and other errors. Anyways here it is in all it's sloppy glory.

Setup:

Yamaha TVL--> Cord--> Jekyll and Hyde--> Vibrolux reverb

Backing is a standard Garage Band loop.

sound pretty cool, i really like the tone. i can hear other strings ring out when you're doing the slower single note lines though. other than that,:fing2:

Re: Overplayed Blues......

Pretty sweet! I want that guitar... bad. Have you listened to my "blues" (in my sig) I've messed around with garageband enough that I can get a few different songs using what they've got on there. And I record my own bass lines so I can play in whatever key I want...

Re: Overplayed Blues......

Kac,
I have listened to your stuff in the past. I made a comment about how cool it was. The TVL is seriously a great guitar. I couldnt be happier.

Re: Overplayed Blues......

Is that Yamaha a USA model or over seas? New or older model? never heard of it.

Its an indonesian made guitar. It is brand new. The TVL has been out for a couple of years I think. It is semi hollow with 3 P 90s and a Bigsby.

Re: Overplayed Blues......

I thought it was your wife's guitar!!!!! ;)

I'll take a look at the clip when I get home.

Re: Overplayed Blues......

Wow !!! Your tone is really fat and chunky! YOu have that "moore" thing going on. Like your style man!

Re: Overplayed Blues......

Your playing and tone do indeed sound Moore-influenced, great stuff.

HAHA! Hence the name "Overplayed Blues". ;-)

I know most people think of me as a Tele Twang man (which I do LOVE), but the style I ALWAYS go to is the blues. Most times I like the really saturated blues tones.

Re: Overplayed Blues......

Most times I like the really saturated blues tones.

Same here. That sort of tone is good for your flagship tone, as very minor tweaks will make it work for just about anything.

As far as the recording, I liked it a lot. My playing has been taking a similar direction as of late.

Re: Overplayed Blues......

Yess ,the tone is really cool and your playing really fits well in the picture.
BTW ,did you ever listen to Colosseum II with Gary Moore? Check the song War Dance...Man his tone is sooooooooooooooo YUMMY there.

Moore is the only Blues player I like. For me it's not overplayed ,it's well expressed ,nicely thought ,beautifully composed ,and just ripping.

Re: Overplayed Blues......

little stevie ray in there I hear. very cool

I noticed after I did this it sounded very familiar to me. I happened to think back and realize I had just been listening to Clapton's From The Cradle and totally ripped some vibe from Someday After a While You'll be sorry. (at least a vibe or two, not the whole thing.)
