How does it compare to the vintage in terms of tone?

FWIW the DCR is way more plus the hum cancelling is a bonus .

This would pair up with a JB in the bridge.

The Stack is a good P90 though the tone is a little darker than the vintage.
Still has the grit and grind. I think it would pair with the JB.

Anything but a Gibson P-100.

Honestly, never found the hum of a P90 too offensive unless surrounded by monitors and crap.

Most people seem to think that a P90 stack isn't as effective as a regular single coil stack. It is thicker than a regular P90, and is, indeed, a compromise.
