Looking to improve my epiphone Les Paul Standard pickups. In a reggae band so looking for the authentic sound. Bob Marley played a Les Paul with Gibson P 90’s. My question is what version of SD p-90’s gets me a better shot of a more authentic sound?

if you want great reggae p90 tone, id use two neck version vintage p90s. 8k a5 which is what the old p90s were. i like the bridge version too, but its got a bit more muscle which you might not want if you are going for a true vintage sound. id double check measurements just as a precaution
 
Honestly, reggae was kinda all over the place as far as guitar sounds. While he was running p-90s for a big chunk of the middle of his career, Marley used a strat in '73 and humbuckers in '79. Tosh also used singles, humbuckers, and p-90s as well while playing with Marley. I'd just look for anything that's low output and sounds reasonably bright . . . my suspicion is that anything that meets this definition will probably work OK.
 
You can stick with traditional P90s, unless the hum is an issue for you, and then look at the Silencers.

That's making me think that P-Rails might be perfect for his app. P-90 side for that sound, then switch to the rails for a Strat-ish sound.
 
I have a SD P90 Vintage in the neck of one of my finer guitars and it's much better than the "boutique" P90 it replaced.
