P-Bass Quarter Pounder Question

Well yesterday I recieve what I ordered, after that I procede to install the new pups. So when I was done I didn't notice any change in my tone which already was fat except that there wasn't that much buzz, what I did was that I cut the two wires (black and white) that the stock pup was connected and then connected the quarter pounder. Might someone tell me if I did it right?

I can't seem to access the picture (image is no longer here error) - but I was thinking about getting the QP for my bass

Did you find this to be the case?
