P. Cornish G-2...anybody familar with it?

I was browsing Pete Cornish's site and came across this little fellow.

Anybody ever try one, use one? The guy has built and mantained rigs for Britan's rock royalty (Glimour, May, Sir Paul to name a few). It's not cheap (~$822 US) but hey, you get what you pay for.

Re: P. Cornish G-2...anybody familar with it?

I'm sure you can find something comparable for a fraction of the price.

Re: P. Cornish G-2...anybody familar with it?

a guy i know, who builds pure 64 amps, has one. its a fantastic pedal but thats obscene. i had no idea they were that much. he has a couple cornish pedals and they are all amazing, i like the ss2 alot.

Re: P. Cornish G-2...anybody familar with it?

I had one, traded in for a tubulator and never looked back.

Re: P. Cornish G-2...anybody familar with it?

I'd argue that you can. Hot rodded Marshall sound? Lots of pedals do that. Plus they sell 18w kits for less than the price of that pedal!
Argue away...you are just missing the point of Cornish stuff.
He is the top of the line.....
And for very good reasons!

I personally don't care how top of the line it is, if it's close to a grand, it better look nice too!

Yes, to a point you´re correct. But you´re still comparing the quality, craftsmanship and performance of a Ferrari to a Ford Focus that somebody riced out. Like RID said, there is no comparison, and there´s a good reason for that. Pete Cornish IS that reason. ;)

BTW; Comparing a Kit that will take dozens of hours to assemble to ANY finished product is asinine, but seeing as you have likely not joined the workforce yet it´s understandable that Time has no tangible value for you. No insult intended, just reminding you that for most adults time really IS money ;)

They are not selling pedals to hobby people, that creams their pants over pretty looks and true bypass and other odd buzzwords...
This is working equipment, real working equipment!
Just look at his list of customers....they want something that works...every night.
Top of the line is Cornish, Bradshaw and that is the high end!

Excuse me? The words "no insult intended" don't automatically make everything you say not insulting, dude. Don't give me the whole adults ****, I know that time is money. While I may not be a 9-5 white collar pencil pusher, I am part of the workforce. The only reason I mention kits is that I've seen kits be put together in a Saturday afternoon, so you can still do it without taking up too much of your precious time ;)

While Pete's single pedals may be of great quality, I would hate to have all my pedals put into one of his big boards. If one pedal goes wrong, you can't just simply replace it, you have to take apart the entire board and probably have Cornish himself repair it. Is the quality and craftsmanship really worth the extra $600-700?

EDIT: Maybe I should have clarified that you can find a pedal with a comparable tone, not an overall comparable pedal.

I dont think David Gillmore would be with him for decades if his pedals failed live... is Stradivarious violin really worth a million, I mean its just an old violin right ?

Man....people that play in that league...do you think that they have one measly setup???
Everything is tripled at least!
And I bet that there is a lifetime service included!
The pedals just do not get in one of his big boards, they get torn apart and wired in(some of them)
I have seen a few of his pedals...there is nothing that rivals it...

Kits yeah....not custommade boards...it is not just a lefthand job...
Plus the know how is not cheap either, nor should it be......

Re: P. Cornish G-2...anybody familar with it?

The G-2 is next on my list. I have the SS-3 and P-2. Both are incredible and I will NEVER part with. I have bought and sold a LOT of effects, but the Cornish effects are truly in a league of their own.

AFAIK he flies out to you if something goes wrong - he's done it before :)
