P-Rails clip (big clip showing a few different sounds)

I thought i would see how versatile it was so I noodled for a few mins.

Nothing but a analog delay pedal (and a few different delay settings including a chorus) and a mesa DC-5 at bedroom levels.

It is one mic, just messing around. You can hear me flick a switch sometimes to get different tones.

It includes both neck and bridge P-rails in various modes.

I like the tone, I definitely want to get a set of P-rails eventually.

I'm not familiar with that last clean song before the dirty stuff, but...

...you a Ren and Stimpy fan? :lmao:

Killer tone! If I weren't dumping a bunch of stuff, they'd be on my list.

Hell yeah! It is my memory version if it. Needs a hollow body and treb booster to sound authentic.

Thanks for sharing, Thefyn - sweet playing :bigok:

I can definitely see a set of these in my near future.

hi..what wiring do you have for the prails? how many switches and what options per pickup do you have? I am looking to get all combos PER pickup on my guitar but havent a clue the best route with switches..thanx

Re: P-Rails clip (big clip showing a few different sounds)

Very nice sound overall. What rig were you running through as well? Also can you detail what setting the P-rails were at and when you switched within the song? The differences were subtle so it was hard to tell if there was even a neck P-rails with the rail only or the bridge P-rails with only the p-90 recorded. Did you use the 4 way switching for each pickup?

Re: P-Rails clip (big clip showing a few different sounds)

Very nice clips man. Great playing and great tone. Thanks for putting those sounds on the web for us to check out.

can you post a dry sound clip?

can you post a dry sound clip?

Thanks for posting the clip. Can you post a clip WITHOUT effects? I'd really like to hear the possible tone options from these pickups, but the effects smear the differences too much.

Do you find a significant drop in volume when switching to the single coil rail? I watched the Seymour Duncan demo video, and it seems the P-Rails suffer from the same problem as other split-able humbuckers; a big drop in volume. Although its possible to compensate for it, but sure would be nice if the drop wasn't as pronounced. If you could post a clean, dry clip of the 3 modes (humbucker, P-90 and single coil), I'd really appreciate it.

thanks for your time,
Dave
