P-Rails... diving in

I bailed on these pups. They sounded good, but I got intimidated by the need to redo all the wiring just to use them as intended. And I've been on this kick of wanting to try classic sets again. So JB/Jazz went in this guitar along with some different magnets. My favorite magnets in there so far are ceramics... tight but still very classic voiced... I'll be gigging the guitar on Tuesday.

That is much easier to do, except you have to be careful with the small fragile ribbon cables.

It actually worked out really well, I don't think the ribbon cables were that fragile but they do take a little finagling to make sure they are seated well in the cavity. There is a lot going on under the pickup when you use them. This particular guitar already had a lot going on before I routed for the middle pickup ;)

When I did mine, it was a little finicky, but I understand that it has to be a certain size to fit. We've had people on here who broke the ribbon cables off, however.
