Hi, all. I have an idea for an old Les Paul. Let me know what you think.
The guitar is a LP 76/55 - that is, it's a 1976-manufactured reissue of a 1955 Les Paul. It has a solid, flat-top mahogany body, no maple cap, and was originally equipped with 2 P-90s. Single-piece, non-intonated wraptail bridge. It looks like many versions of LP Juniors that I've seen. I've owned it since '79 or thereabouts.
Back when I was young and stupid I ditched the bridge P-90 for a Dimarzio Super Distortion humbucker. Yes, this entailed routing for the HB and sometimes, being older and wiser, it keeps me awake at nights. :smash:
Anyhow, it is what it is. I'm considering replacing the Super Distortion with a P-Rails and retaining the original neck P-90. Do y'all think the P-90 and P-Rails would be a good combination?
