P-rails neck with Hot rails bridge

Re: P-rails neck with Hot rails bridge

I use each but not in the same guitar.

I imagine that it would make for an extremely versatile hard rock telecaster. I always install Hot Rails for their distortion tone and then am pleasantly surprised with their cleans.

Re: P-rails neck with Hot rails bridge

I would think that would be a great choice, but probably not for Joe Pass. :)

Re: P-rails neck with Hot rails bridge

i betcha the p90 neck could get some good jazz tones ;)

Re: P-rails neck with Hot rails bridge

P-Rails in the neck is an absolute fabulous pup. So many really good sounding choices. Yes, Joe Pass could make some wonderful jazz music on the neck pup...and not just the P-90 coil.

As for the HR in the bridge, it's a pup I personally haven't tried but certainly will one of these days. If for nothing else, at least to satisfy my curiosity. It fills a niche. If it's your thing for the type of music you play then you are going to love it. But no matter what, the neck P-Rails is going to get you where you want to go.

Sounds like a good combo to me.

Re: P-rails neck with Hot rails bridge

I'm actually going to try a hotrails for tele bridge with a coolrails for strat neck first. I dont have a p-rails yet, I wanyed to try this combo out first. I dont think it will sound anything like a tele, I just wanted to try a single coil sized humbucker. I had a vintage rails years ago - I didnt like it - but I didn't have a configuration that I really loved. It was one of my first aftermarket pickups I bought second hand from a music shop. I had a fender red lace sensor and a SD STK2 n.. I tryed all different configurations and finally got the one I liked most.. I ended up selling that guitar not that long ago.and I couldn't find the original pickups at the time so I sold it as it was.
