p/u wiring company

Re: p/u wiring company

What are you looking for? People around here tend to help out with wiring plans and figuring out how to make ideas out of left field work.

Re: p/u wiring company

thanks.strat sdjazz neck ,sd antiquity surf rprw middle, sd pearly gate bridge . fender 5 way super switch and want to put in some kind of push pull pots in both tones to get mega choices . I play blues r&b funk and want to get into jazz chords. have only done easy pickup replacements but over welmed by super strat install. The plans I see show only one tone pot not two

Re: p/u wiring company

People actually charge a full $30 to just give you a wiring diagram? F that!

What is it exactly what you want? Series/parallel switching, phase switching, splits, etc? I can draw up a diagram for you.

Re: p/u wiring company

I've posted over 30 custom diagrams to this site for free. I guess my rate just went up. Will diagram for food, gents.

Re: p/u wiring company

I can see both sides of this. I too, have done dozens of diagrams here, and it's fun to help out the forum.

On the other hand, when you do it for free, you tend to fit it in to your schedule. And life doesn't seem to slow down. It just keeps spinning. There's probably more than one forum bro who's tic'ed at me right now for not finishing some stuff up in a timely fashion.

Sorry to those in that boat. I'm trying to find the time. :)

Re: p/u wiring company

If you had a steady stream of customers, I could see how that would be a good gig. Unfortunately, such things can easily be posted online and thus your profit evaporates like a fart in a dust storm. As well, those who do it for free outnumber those who do it for pay.

That said, the diagram you want has probably already been done and posted somewhere here, just not with that exact combo of pickups. The specific models are irrelevant as long as their wiring options conform to an existing diagram (i.e. same color coding, split/series/parallel/phase options, etc).

Guitarelectronics.com has a breakdown of how a Superswitch operates, as far as what contacts are active in which position. The hard part (for me, anyway) has always been figuring out the how and why behind combining the 4 poles. I can follow the philosophy of a diagram but starting from scratch takes me a minute.
