P90 (Phat Cat) in a hollowbody?

I have a new Heritage 550, 17", complete hollowbody guitar. I find the pups (Schaller) to be a bit woofy. I use this guitar to play blues/rock/country stuff with my band. Thinking about P90s, any opinions how they would sound in my hollowbody? Compaired to a humbucker? Thanks!

I play pretty much the same styles as you and am very happy with the Phat Cats in my Epi Sheraton (semi-hollow).

How are the Phat Cat's tone different than the humbuckers that came with your Sheraton?

To my ears, the Phat Cat does not sound like a P-90. They are bighter with a bit of clank to them. Part P-90, part Tele bridge pickup (75/25) is how I describe the Phat Cat.

The Phat Cats sound good in my Ibanez AWD82 (smaller, semi-hollow body). I would prefer that they didn't hum, but c'est la vie.

I think the bridge is a bit brighter with a touch of "clank" as you say, but to my ears, the neck is definitely darker than any P90 I've tried. I think they need to back that wind off from 8k to low 7's.

Way more detailed, woodier, and a bit louder actually. They're great for country, rock, rockabilly, jazz, or pretty much any style where you need an articulate, beefy guitar tone.

Yeah, I should have specified...I was talking about the bridge. I've never played a PCn before.
