P90 recommendation

Long time no see, boys and girls!

So... I'm building an ash-bodied double P90 Tele and I have this pickup for the neck:

I've actually never owned or really spent much time with a P90 guitar before so I don't have a good suggestion for myself. Therefore, I ask you guys.

I want something that'll match up nicely with that neck pickup, not squeal with moderate amounts of gain (which is why I haven't immediately gone for an Antiquity since they're not potted, but I also am not sure if this CS job here is potted since my BIL ordered it 13 years ago), sound like a vintage-ish P90 with balls but won't overpower that neck. As much as I'd love to just drop in and go with an in-phase partner pickup I guess that doesn't really match since I should be able to flip the magnets in one.

Also, I don't really care what brand you recommend as long as it sounds like a P90 and not just a P90 shaped pickup.

Re: P90 recommendation

An 8k A2 P90 would make a warm and full neck. If thats the way you want it, the vintage Style P90 Bridge with 9.7 k A5 would make a warm neck with a briter bridge, which should kinda match. If you purchase 2 A2 mags, you swap them in for a warmer bridge.

Yeah, I'm starting to think that to get something in the range of what I want I'm going to have to magnet swap. Ideally I'd like the Antiquity if it were potted to prevent the squealies. Nobody makes a pickup in that mid 8K range with A2 bars, eh?

Re: P90 recommendation

Porter Pickups do some nice P90s, worth a look at least. I've made my own, but am waiting on a neck from Warmoth before being able to try them out properly :)
