P90's upgrade in '93 LP Special

Need some advice and tips on what is the best upgrade soapbar to use in my '93 LP Special. The current axe has two gibson p90's and bridge side PU is a little weak when I need some good sustain. I use a tupe amp with two pedals, stacked at times when I am trying to get the bridge p90 to get "over the top" but it is still a little weak. On a clean sound, the p90's are great. I do not want to change the neck PU at all -- sounds just fine the way that it is.

Thanks,
RWF

I did some P90 research a while ago and there was a page where one guy had tried every P90 imagineable, including the original Gibson ones and nothing beat Kent Armstrongs. IIRC, he mentioned some good things about Duncans, so they're a good idea as well.

Try the neck model Duncan Custom P90 in the bridge. Sounds crazy, but it's the stock bridge pickup in the PRS McCarty models with P90's.

besides the usual suspects, you may want to do some research on jason lollar, dave stephens, steven kersting and harmonic design (scott petersen). i heard they made wonderful p90s. since they are custom wound, you can actually spec them according to your gear, type of music played etc.

SP-90-3 Duncan Custom Soapbar. Been in my '90 Special since new, before that it was the bridge pup in my Jr. Great pickup, raw rock tone and it sounds great overdriven. Cleans up pretty well backing off a bit too.

Don't care for Kent Armstrong pups and I haven't used any other P-90's besides SD's & Gibsons that I like but if SD doesn't do it for you I have heard excellent things about Harmonic Designs.

Dimarzio makes a P90 sized version of their Super Distortion pickup. I have one in the bridge of my Special and it really sings when the overdrive is kicked in.
