PAF studs on Full Shred

ok so i have some PAF studs lying around from a junk (DD) hum that i took apart. now i have another guitar that i want to install a full shred into, but i want that PAF covered look. im getting a pearly gates in the neck, so i want to even out the look, and replace the bridge end hex screws with the slotted screws. i dont think it will pose any problems, but i want to make sure....

You shouldnt have any problems, but the tone will change. THe pickup should get thicker, which may or may not be a good thing, depending on your point of view.
