PAF with similar eq to the C5

I have had a Custom (C5 and CUOA5 back and forth) bridge and an UOA5 '59 neck in a Hamer Studio for about 2 years. I find the Custom 5 the closest in tone to what works in the bridge of that guitar, but a little hot and bright at the top end. The '59 neck might be best with an A2. I am considering a Pearly Gates set. I've heard the PG is bright in the bridge; would it be any brighter than the C5? I'm sure the neck would be good. How does the PG compare to the Seth?
My amp is a Dr. Z Carmen Ghia and I have an array of good O.D. pedals.... I like all kinds of music from MSG to Country.........

the 59 has the same scooped type eq, but the move to a thicker gauge wire will remove compression. Maybe adding mids with a move to an A2 magnet might help.

I tried the Custom5 in my HamerUSA Standard first impression was it has a solid full sound but then quickly noticed it was lacking any ZING!??? If that makes any sense :dunno:
I’m currently liking a 59 Set but I’m eyeing the SH-18 Whole Lotta Humbuckers.
